My wife and I were in the crowd of more than 100,000 that gathered to hear Barack Obama yesterday at Civic Center Park. I caught just a few glimpses of him, but it was still a rare treat to be there. I kept trying to embed the memory deep in my mind, so I’d be able to recall it when I’m an old man.

Update: I just received an email from Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper with this video excerpt from the speech. On Sunday Obama noted that our beloved mayor is “another skinny guy with a funny name.”
